We are already at the digital age where almost everyone can connect to the Internet with ease. And for every site owner out there, taking note of this change would benefit them the most. That means opting their site to give it more impact, turn in more traffic and ultimately gain more profit. And aesthetics alone doesn’t cut it anymore.

Here are some of the upcoming web design trends this coming 2017.

Mobile Responsive

Today, most of the people surfing the internet would gladly use their mobile phones over their laptops or desktop units to do so. That’s simply another way of saying that a Responsive web design will the best option of anyone this coming year and most probably, in the coming future. In fact, a recent study shows that mobile online search uses will greatly overtake laptops and desktop internet use in 2017.
So whether you like or not, Responsive will be here to stay, for good. You can either take it and make your site applicable to mobile devices or ignore over half of your potential viewers in the coming future.

Video Marketing will be more crucial to Marketing

2016 marked a huge change and turn-around of people using and engaging in visual content via social media. Most notable of it is the use of Facebook Video daily views that had increased from 1 billion to 8 billion views in the past year.
Video consumption will still continue to rise as people who prefer to learn more product best by video rather than reading a manual or speaking on a phone.
For companies aiming to reach this market, it is best that they start to invest in explainer videos or learn doing explainer videos from professional creators for their products and services.

Less Clicking More Scrolling

With the increasing number of people shifting to mobile phone use, it’s only natural that the need for more scrolling pages will only grow. I can’t see why not, as it’s much easier to use, navigate and load pages that way. And in terms of mobile experience, this one rocks.

Flat Design

Gone are those unnecessarily artistic web designs that may have made everyone gasp in awe 3-5 years ago. What the users want now are more simplistic yet efficient web designs that are easier to use and navigate through. Flat web designs achieve this feat with ease.
This minimalistic approach is much more applicable to mobile users as they can easily browse through it with their smartphones. And because they’re simple, loading these pages won’t be a problem as well. Flat Design is already making its mark now – it will only grow more popular this coming year.

Typography will matter

Though not exactly applicable when it was first introduced because of its high costs (type-kits were damn expensive back then). However, ever since Google Fonts showed up in the markets, for free, Typography web designs are making their way back into the trend flock again. A perfect blend of creative image and words makes this one a popular web design which would still be in 2017.

Less is More

Web designs don’t need to be artistic, image filled to draw in viewers. Being too technical and making your site too complex to navigate through will make it much harder for you to get a decent traffic as well. What one needs to aim for now is to provide a basic, simplistic look for their site while not jeopardizing any of its efficiency.
“Simplicity at its best” – sites designed based on these ideals will likely get more exposure than one that isn’t. Keep it concise and straight to the point – don’t make your viewers run around in circles.

Afterword

Based on how the technology that we have today, it’s easy to predict which would be the hottest trend in the coming year. However, that still doesn’t mean that it would be a hundred percent correct, unless you climbed aboard a time machine and saw the future – that would be great then.
