A “Star-Studded” conference on the development of ICT in the Visayas area is now being organized for a two-day gathering that will be held at BORACAY Island, Aklan.
The Visayas ICT Organization’s annual conference will be held in Aklan on August 26–27, 2022, at La Carmela Boracay, according to Gabrielle Calizo-Quimpo, executive director of the Aklan ICT Council.
The Aklan ICT Council’s quarterly meeting, which took place on Thursday in the Sangguniang Panlalawigan’s Conference Hall, made this announcement. “This event is likely to draw almost all of the Philippine ICT stars, making it a star-studded event.
According to Quimpo, a former Aklan congresswoman, “the Department of Information, Communication, and Technology (DICT) has identified the province of Aklan as the next big thing for the ICT industry.”
These are some of the topics that were initially prepared: Government Institutional Support and Fiscal Incentives for the IT-BPM Industry, Strategies to Brave the Pandemic to Reach New Heights and Adapt to Working from Home or Hybrid Models, Mainstreaming Digital Skills into Non-Formal Education, Ensuring Digital Skills-Blockchain, Cybersecurity, Cloud Technology and Data Analytics, Development of Local Digital Innovation, and Setting the Ideal Business Climate Standards.
Ivan John Enrile Uy, the recently appointed DICT Secretary, Jonathan Defensor De Luzuriaga, the President of the Philippine Software Industry Association and Lord Commander of the Spring Valley based in Negros Occidental, Jocelle Batapa-Sigue, and Mary JJoy Abueg, the head of the Palawan ICT Council, were anticipated attendees at the above-said event.
The National ICT Confederation of the Philippines also supports the Visayas Leg. The seventh Visayas Creative Congress will take place on August 26, 2022, and will coincide with the event. Which is in its tenth year and has as its theme Visayas Digital Decade of Vision.
The VICTOR Congress will be held in Aklan for the second time around. The first one took place at New Washington’s Sampaguita Gardens in 2018.
